A

A customer must be 21 years or older and must possess a valid Driving Licence held for at least 1 year to rent an Onroadz self-drive car.

Can foreigners rent a car in India?

A

Yes. Foreign nationals can rent an Onroadz self-drive car, subject to document and driving-licence verification. International customers should normally carry a valid home-country Driving Licence along with an applicable International Driving Permit (IDP). We recommend confirming eligibility with Onroadz before completing the booking.

What documents are needed to rent a self-drive car in India?

A

Indian Citizens need:

  • Original valid Driving Licence
  • Valid Government-issued identity/address proof
  • Current address details
  • Employment, student or business proof, where required for verification

Additional documents may be requested depending on the booking and verification requirements.

Foreign Nationals need:

  • Original Passport
  • Valid Driving Licence issued by their home country
  • International Driving Permit
  • Visa, where applicable
  • Details and contact information of their stay in India

What is included in the rental price?

A

The rental price includes vehicle usage and the applicable booking charges shown in your booking summary.

The following are generally not included in the rental cost:

  • Fuel charges
  • FASTag/toll charges
  • Interstate taxes, where applicable
  • Parking charges
  • Traffic violation fines
  • Other trip-related expenses

Customers should review the final booking summary before making payment.

How does the security deposit work and when is it refunded?

A

Eligible customers may rent an Onroadz self-drive car without paying a security deposit, subject to satisfactory document and security verification. Approved deposit-free arrangements may include submitting an original Driving Licence or other approved address/security documentation. If the submitted documents or security arrangement do not meet Onroadz verification requirements, a refundable security deposit may be required.

Where a deposit has been collected, it will be processed to the applicable source of payment after:

  • The vehicle has been returned
  • The return inspection has been completed
  • Applicable charges, if any, have been settled

The actual credit time may depend on the payment method or banking process.

What is the fuel policy?

A

Onroadz follows a like-for-like fuel policy. nFuel is generally not included in the rental cost. Customers must return the vehicle with approximately the same fuel level recorded at the time of handover. Additional fuel left in the vehicle above the recorded handover level is generally not reimbursed.

What is the FASTag/toll policy?

A

Onroadz vehicles are fitted with FASTag. Customers are responsible for FASTag usage, recharge requirements, toll charges and applicable interstate taxes during the rental period.

What is the price to rent a self-drive car?

A

Onroadz offers self-drive cars across budget, mid-range and premium categories. Selected cars may be available from ₹999/day on weekdays, subject to city, vehicle availability, dates and applicable offer conditions. Weekly and monthly rental packages are also available for customers looking for longer-duration rentals.

Can I get the car delivered to my doorstep?

A

Yes. Onroadz provides doorstep delivery and pickup for eligible locations and bookings. Depending on the city and booking, delivery may be available to your home, office or another supported location. Availability, delivery radius, charges and timings may vary by city. Customers should confirm the available delivery option before booking.

Can I get my car at the airport or railway station?

A

Airport and railway-station delivery or pickup may be available at supported Onroadz locations. Availability, charges, timings and meeting points vary by city, so customers should confirm the arrangement before completing the booking.

Accidents, Breakdowns & Speed LimitsFAQ

What is the speed limit for rental cars in India?

A

Customers must follow all applicable local, state and national road speed limits. Onroadz vehicles are fitted with speed-governing systems according to applicable requirements. Certain vehicles may be governed at 80 km/hour. Any traffic fines or penalties arising from speeding or other traffic violations during the rental period must be borne by the customer.

What happens if the vehicle breaks down or gets into an accident?

A

In case of a breakdown:

  • Park the vehicle in a safe location
  • Switch on the hazard lights
  • Contact Onroadz customer support or roadside assistance immediately
  • Do not attempt unauthorised repairs
  • Do not leave the vehicle unattended without informing Onroadz

In case of an accident:

Prioritise everyone's safety and contact Onroadz immediately.

Customers may be required to:

  • File an FIR or complete the required police formalities
  • Take photographs/videos of the vehicle and accident
  • Provide relevant accident details
  • Cooperate with the insurance-claim process
  • Follow instructions provided by the Onroadz support team

Do not arrange repairs without prior approval from Onroadz.

Are Onroadz cars insured?

A

Yes. Onroadz vehicles have basic insurance coverage. However, insurance does not automatically cover every damage-related expense. Customer liability, insurance exclusions, towing costs, repair-related charges, excess amounts and other applicable costs depend on the circumstances and rental agreement.

Can I change or cancel my booking?

A

Yes. Booking changes and cancellations are subject to the applicable Onroadz cancellation and modification policy. Vehicle changes are subject to availability.

Promotional offers, special deals or discounted bookings may have different or stricter cancellation and modification conditions. Customers should review the applicable conditions before confirming the booking.

Can I extend the booking while on a trip?

A

Yes, subject to vehicle availability and approval.

An extension request must be raised at least 4 hours before the scheduled return time by:

  • Contacting Onroadz customer support, or
  • Raising an extension request through the Onroadz booking app

The extension is confirmed only after approval and completion of any applicable additional payment.

A

Yes. Onroadz vehicles have basic insurance coverage. Insurance coverage is subject to the applicable policy, rental agreement, customer liability and exclusions.

Yes. Onroadz vehicles are periodically serviced and maintained. Vehicles are checked before trips, and cleaning or sanitisation is carried out as part of vehicle preparation.

Once your concern has been resolved, provide the ticket-closure OTP to confirm closure of the support ticket. Do not provide the closure OTP until your issue has been satisfactorily resolved.
